Ashlee Roderick, PT, DPT, OCS

Owner & Clinic Director

Ashlee joined Healing Motion Physical Therapy, Inc. in June of 2015 and became the owner in July of 2019. She graduated from Corban University magna cum laude in 2011, where she majored in Health Science, Human Performance with an emphasis on Exercises Science, and minored in Biblical Studies. She played basketball on a scholarship for all four undergraduate years and was an Academic All-American and All-Conference player. Prior to her physical therapy training, Ashlee worked in various facilities, including our local Fitness Over Fifty, as a personal trainer.

Ashlee attended graduate school at Pacific University and graduated Doctor of Physical Therapy with distinction in May of 2015. She achieved her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification in 2018 and is pursuing additional specialty certification in orthopedics and manual therapy through Mulligan as well as the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Ashlee particularly enjoys treating athletes. She is one of few local pelvic floor specialists. She also has a sizeable interest in pain neurophysiology as it relates to chronic pain. Additionally, she is a primary investigator in “The Effectiveness of Astym® in Treating Plantar Fasciopathy: a feasibility study.”

Ashlee, her husband and business partner Stephen, and their two little girls Ellie and Addisyn make their home in North Albany. They spend their time together with friends and family, dabbling in real estate, running, playing basketball and disc golf, boating, and cheering on the Blazers, Red Sox, 49ers, and of course the Beavers.

Kersey Schuh, PT, DPT

Director of Clinical Education

Kersey, a Corvallis native, graduated from Oregon State University cum laude in 2013 with a degree in General Science with a concentration of Pre-Physical Therapy. She attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia for graduate school and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in May 2017. In her clinical internships in outpatient orthopedics, pediatrics, and hospital acute care she was able to experience treating a variety of injuries and disease processes, with people from 4 months to 96 years of age. During her orthopedic internship she was introduced to manual therapy techniques and has a desire to continue to build upon those skills. Her interests lie in post-surgical knees and hips, low back pain, and to continue to develop further knowledge and skills to treat throwing-related shoulder injuries. Kersey is excited to be a part of the HMPT team and to assist people to live their best life through building relationships with each patient and furthering her skills as a clinician.

Outside of work Kersey enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing with her adorable puppy, reading, baking, and decorating cakes. She is also an avid baseball fan – Go Braves!

Andrew Halstead, PT, DPT, ATC

Andrew was born and raised in Newberg, OR. He graduated summa cum laude from Oregon State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training and Kinesiology. During his time at OSU, Andrew had the opportunity to work in rehabilitation with athletes from a variety of sports and level of skill in OSU’s Athletic Training program. Andrew is a certified athletic trainer (ATC) that has had the opportunity to work with OSU sports including football, softball, and men’s soccer and Corvallis High School.

Andrew attended graduate school at Pacific University and received his Doctor of Physical Therapy in May of 2019. Throughout this training Andrew had the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population from individuals with stroke to children with cerebral palsy. Andrew enjoys treating individuals of all walks of life but has a particular passion for treating athletes. While not working, Andrew enjoys staying active and enjoys running, playing soccer, working on cars, watching hockey, and cheering on the Beavs.

Abby Hendryx, PT, DPT

Born and raised in Washington, Abby graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Applied Human Biology from Seattle Pacific University in 2016. She attended graduate school at Regis University in Denver, Colorado, earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with honors in May of 2019. Throughout her time in Seattle and Denver, Abby had the opportunity to work in various settings, including outpatient orthopedic, acute hospital care, home health, and skilled nursing. She has worked with patients of all ages and physical capabilities, though she has a particular interest in working with people managing chronic pain. She is passionate about forming relationships with her patients and empowering them to pursue healthy living.

Outside of work, Abby enjoys adventuring with her husband, who was born and raised in Oregon. Together they enjoy cheering on the Blazers and the Gonzaga Bulldogs, hiking, cooking, traveling, reading, running, drinking coffee, and spending time with family and friends.

Melissa McNulty, PT, DPT, COMT

A homegrown, born and bred Alaskan, Mel joins Healing Motion Physical Therapy after relocating to Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Mel graduated with honors from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a general degree in psychology and later earned, with distinction, her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northern Arizona University in 2011. Mel then returned home to Alaska and served the Matanuska Susitna Valley in the outpatient orthopedic setting for the following seven and a half years. She is a certified orthopedic manual therapist (COMT), and is also trained in basic manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) and fascial manipulation. In addition, she is skilled in both land based and aquatic therapeutic exercise prescription, and trained in the sensory motor control model emphasizing spinal and upper/lower quarter stabilization. She is experienced in working with various acute, recurrent, and chronic musculoskeletal pain complaints affecting the spine and joints of the upper and lower extremities. Among her favorite patients to treat are “silver seniors,” the quintessential weekend warrior, and anyone determined to become their best possible self. She considers it a privilege to practice physical therapy, and strives to provide personalized and unparalleled care through hands-on treatment, education, and of course, healing motion. Mel is eager to join HMPT, and looks forward to serving her new community.

Outside the clinic, Mel enjoys spending time with her husband, Shawn, and radical rescue dog, Mason, as well as her family, including niece Olivia and nephew Henry. She also volunteers in Corvallis with OSU’s Multiple Sclerosis Exercise Program, and assists with her family’s local B&B, MaMere’s Guesthouse, in Monmouth. She also loves football, and is an avid “Sixburgh” Steelers fan.

Tiara Stahlbaum

Office Manager

Tiara is originally from Oregon, but grew up moving around the United States and Europe. She studied Kinesiology at Oregon State University and plans to attend graduate school to pursue a career in Business Management and Public Health Promotion. In her free-time, she enjoys equestrian dressage, hiking the beautiful PNW with her fiancé and Golden Retriever, cooking, and calligraphy.

Kyla Baternik

Billing Manager

Kyla grew up in the suburbs of Boston. After high school, she moved to Ashland, Oregon where she graduated from Southern Oregon University with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Accounting. Before settling down in Oregon, she lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Alburquerque, New Mexico.

Kyla now resides in Philomath, Oregon with her husband and son. She enjoys spending time with her family hiking, running, reading, cooking, crocheting, and training her dog for agility competitions.

Robbie Cain

Physical Therapy Aide

Robbie was born in Washington but grew up most of his life in Colorado. His junior year of high school, he moved to Oregon and has been here since. He is currently a senior studying kinesiology at Oregon State University with the goal of going to physical therapy school after he graduates. Whenever he’s free, he enjoys fitness, snowboarding, football, hunting and finding new types of music to listen to.

Catherine Enger

Physical Therapy Aide

Catherine was born and raised in Oregon and loves living in this beautiful, versatile state. She graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Kinesiology and plans to attend graduate school to pursue her dream career in Physical Therapy. She is a lifelong Beaver fan as well as an avid fan of the Marvel Universe. In her free time, she enjoys singing, playing guitar, ukulele, and piano, hiking mountains, playing various sports recreationally, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Kylee Schelin

Physical Therapy Aide

Born into a Coast Guard family and moved around a lot as a child. Currently a Senior at Oregon State University studying Kinesiology. Plans to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist. I enjoy playing soccer, cuddling up with a good book or movie, cooking, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family.

Stephen Roderick

Owner, Accounts Receivable, and Information Technology

Stephen, Ashlee’s husband, co-owns Healing Motion. He oversees the financials and information technology.

Stephen was born and raised in Corvallis, where he attended Santiam Christian through high school. He stayed local for college at Oregon State, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His day job is as an aviation software engineer. He is also a pilot and a real estate investor.

In the little free time he has, you’ll most likely find Stephen with Ashlee and their two little ladies, Ellie and Addisyn. He also enjoys playing basketball and wakeboarding.

Eileen Tokuda, PT, MHA and Craig Tokuda

Clinic Founders

Eileen established Healing Motion Physical Therapy, Inc. in 2005. She was joined at the clinic by her husband, Craig, who was instrumental in establishing the accounting and billing infrastructure.

Healing Motion PT, Inc. was warmly received by the local community and experienced consistent growth over the 15 years in which the Tokuda’s owned the clinic.

Clinic ownership changed in July of 2019 and is now in the able hands of Ashlee and Stephen Roderick.

Craig and Eileen are now enjoying a multitude of retirement activities knowing that caring staff members remain with the practice, providing the same personal and professional services you have always enjoyed. Your trust and confidence in the Healing Motion PT, Inc. staff has been personally humbling and a great source of pride to Eileen and Craig.
